About Us

KEISHINKAN    啓心館

Keishinkan is the Perth branch of the Japan Aikido Association and also the Australian branch of Sugino dojo - Katori Shinto Ryu in Japan. Keishinkan  was founded by Katie Noad and Noriko Shimada on 19th October 1989.


The Japanese characters used in Keishinkan roughly translate as the "open heart place".

Keishinkan welcomes all visitors and appreciates the exchange of knowledge and skills with aikidoka from all backgrounds.


Keishinkan is the founding member of the Japanese Martial Arts Centre Incorporated.
